Key Stage 4
In a school a long time ago, some student learned about waves..........
Make a mind map of everything you can remember about waves from year 8!
Watch the introduction video then work you way through the questions on the comapnion sheet
Complete task 3 on the companion sheet by making the formulas to work out frequency and wave speed
Frequency is a lot like buses. The more busses that pass a bus stop every hour, the more frequent they are.
Just like buses, the move waves that pass a single point in a second the more frequent the wave. We say that wave has a higher frequency.
If 1 wave pases a point evey second we say that the wave has a frequency of 1 Hertz. If 2 waves pass a point in a second, we say that it has a frequency or 2 Hertz and so on.....
Waves often have frequencies measure in Megahertz (MHz) or Gigahertz (GHz).
