The direction that a current carrying wire will move when placed in a magnetic field is predictable.
All you need to know is:
The direction of the current +ve to -ve
The direction of the magnetic field N ~> S

Practise by completing task 4 on the companion sheet.
It is ok to say that the direction on the force is to the left, right, up, down, into the paper and out of the plain of the paper.
Remember that if you don't look a fool in the exam you're not doing it right.
