Sometimes called Trophic levels
Producers - These make their own food using the Sun and are always plants. theire energy comes from the Sun directly
Primary consumers - These animals eat the producers to get their energy. They are usually Herbivores but can be Omnivores
Secondary consumers - These eat the primary consumers to get their energy These are always Carnivores
Tertiary consumers - These eat the secondary consumer to get their energy. These are also carnivores.
Top predator - These are predators that are not eaten by anybody else. They can be secondary or tertiary consumers
