Describe this day....
Why did you describe it this way?
Light from the sun comes in different colours. The long wavelength of light appears RED to our eyes and the shortest wavelengths appear BLUE to our eyes
When we see all the colours together they appear WHITE
There are 2 colours our eyes cannot see. There is a one to the left of red called INFRARED and one to the right of violet called ULTRAVIOLET.
The Sun's energy travels through space in the form of radiation. Unlike Conduction and convection, radiation does not need anything to travel though. It take the form of an energy wave called INFRARED. The INFRARED energy falls on an object, the energy is absorbed and the object warms up.
On your companion sheet explain why the earth is hot during the day ,but much cooler at night.
